Three years!

Thank you, Gracias, Merci, Danke, Dhanyavaad!

We do not have words to express the overwhelming response and encouragement we have received over the past three years since launching Baked in Heaven.

When we started thinking about creating custom cakes, the only assets we had were a great friendship, some home-grown skills, and support from our spouses and friends. Three years and many loyal customers, Facebook fans and Pinterest pins later, we cannot believe how fortunate we have been to be on the receiving end of so much love and encouragement from all over the world (literally).

We have now come to a point where we have to pause, take a deep breath and reevaluate our family commitments – stopping to smell the roses along the way if you will. Therefore, we are taking a short break from mixing cake batter, whipping up frosting and kneading fondant in order to spend more time with our family and friends. What this means is that we will not be accepting any new orders until further notice, and we apologize for any inconveniences this may cause to our customers.

We have pictures of the cakes that we worked on in the past which we didn’t get a chance to post yet, so this blog will still be semi-active and we will post those pictures as often as we can. We hope that you will continue to show us your love and support.

Baby Shower cake

Here’s a cake we made for a painting-themed baby shower party. The 6″ Strawberry Surprise cake had paint-themed edible decorations. Making the fondant baby was super fun indeed. Enjoy the pictures.

Minnie Mouse and Friends

This is a Minnie and Friends themed cake similar to a tiered cake that we made a few months ago. The 10″ cake has Strawberry Surprise flavor. The figurines are non-edible and the other decorations are made with fondant, including the big bow on top of the cake.

Hello Kitty

Here’s a Hello Kitty cake that we made which is very similar to one of our previous designs. The cake was a 4-layer 10″ Strawberry Surprise cake with mousse and fresh strawberry filling and buttercream frosting. Hello Kitty was hand-painted with food coloring on a sheet of rolled fondant.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cake

Here is a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse themed birthday cake for a 2 year old girl. The two-tiered Bubbly Butterscotch cake had a smooth and light mousse filling, and was topped with a combination of edible and non-edible toppers. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Pluto and Goofy were non-edible toy figurines, and all the other decorations were made with fondant. The birthday girl’s name was spelled out in yellow fondant stars.
